Although the world of Internet marketing runs deep with techniques for making money online, the goal is always the same:  Build a list of prospects, turn them into customers, and sell them things over and over again.

As a result, instead of becoming overwhelmed with all of the info out there on marketing, start with just the simplest and most effective thing you can.

The simplest and most effective thing is to give away a free report that you write up in Word and turn into a PDF.  You give it away to people in exchange for them giving you their names and email addresses.

Next, contact these people on a regular basis with special offers and updates regarding your business.  That’s all there is to it.  Listen, nothing is more important than having a list of a prospects and customers and communicating with them.

By the way, if you’re worried about creating the free report, let me make it simple for you.  Let’s say you own a health food store.  You could write up a report titled, “The 10 Best Things You Can Do Today to Improve Your Health.”  Maybe you’re a mechanic.  In that case, you could write a report titled, “Ten Things that Will Improve Your Fuel Economy.”  Easy, right?
