When people first learn about marketing, many of them instantly think, “That all sounds good for you, but my business is different.”
I’m here to say that these techniques work for me and I’m a friggin’ entertainer! I live in Los Angeles which is easily the most competitive place to make a living as a comedian or a magician.
For example, The Magic Castle, which is the most prestigious venue in the world for magicians, is right here. I perform there regulalry.
Out of the roughly 5,000 magicians that belong to The Magic Castle, how many do you think make a great living? I’m sure you can guess it’s a very small number.
However, it’s not a small number because of a lack of talent. Again, The Magic Castle is the MOST prestigious magic venue in the world.
The reason most of these magicians don’t make money is because they haven’t learned to market themselves.
If you own or would like to start a business, get the sentence, “But my business is different,” out of your head.
These marketing techniques have been around over a 100 years and it doesn’t matter what you’re trying to sell, they work.
Just remember, if a comedy-magician can apply these ideas and make a great living, you can too!
